AUXC NIMS/INCS Recognized

If you are a certified Auxiliary Communicator (AUXC) this position is now recognized in the FEMA NIMS Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Functional Guidance. If you would like a copy, please email me at tsarlitto@myanemoi.org

Anemoi Incident Response encourages all amateur radio operators to attend the two day class and to certify in their respective state. Classes are available through your state, check with your local ARES Group if you can not find a class.

The class is a two day event, mostly held on weekends. After the class you must complete the Taskbook and have all the disciplines signed off. Once your taskbook is complete you submit that to the proper authorities in your state to be State Certified. You are not an AUXC until your state certifies you. My own personal journey took me 1.5 years to complete after taking the class in 2021 and to become Illinois State Certified.

Anemoi Incident Response has stated it’s own Auxcomm Team to assist with communications for our volunteers, residents, and local communites if needed. Our goal is to establish a well rounded team of Amateur Radio Operators and AUXC positions. Communications is a vital ingredient in disaster response and Anemoi Incident Response Auxcomm Team is looking to be a leader in this area.

If you would like more information on being part of our Auxcomm Team, please visit www.myanemoi.org and complete a volunteer application.
