Winlink Training Going Strong
Winlink is a worldwide radio messaging system that uses amateur-band radio frequencies and government frequencies to provide radio interconnection services. This includes email with attachments, position reporting, weather bulletins, emergency and relief communications, and message relay. The Anemoi Incident Response Auxcomm Team is very proud to offer this training on a weekly basis at no cost to participants.
Our team recently received some valuable feedback about our program:
"Thanks for asking how the training is going. I enjoyed looking at and filling in the forms. I would have appreciated seeing some real examples of the actual forms with data in them. The more common forms were easy to complete, but the longer forms would have been more useful to me with actual information. I am in York, Pennsylvania."
"I like the weekly exercises; they keep me familiar with Winlink's format. I'm in Pope County, Arkansas."
"The weekly Winlink Program offers excellent practice of form usage. Thank you and your team for providing the Winlink Program."
"I also enjoy the Webinar Wednesday Program. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast."
"Great program, many skills to develop, new tools to learn and practice using. Thanks for being patient with me as I don't participate every time."
"THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HAVING THESE EXERCISES WITH WINLINK FORMS. DOING THIS ON A FREQUENT BASIS SURELY IMPROVES MY ABILITY TO BE FAMILIAR WITH THE FORMS AVAILABLE IN THE WINLINK PROGRAM THAT WE USE ON A REGULAR BASIS HERE WITH OUR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS TEAM THAT SUPPORTS THE LOCAL FIRE, EMS, LAW ENFORCEMENT, AS WELL AS MAINE SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAMS. WE HAVE A GREAT TEAM HERE IN WHITEFIELD, MAINE THAT PROVIDES SERVICES TO MANY AGENCIES STATE, COUNTY, AND FEDERAL THROUGH THE SHARES PROGRAM AS WELL."
"Love the Winlink Exercises. Always look forward to practicing new forms and processes. Thanks for the efforts put into these exercises."
"I think the Anemoi Incident Response Weekly Exercise is vital to keeping agencies and emergency communicators well-practiced in the Winlink system and the various forms. Thanks for all y'all do. We are in the State of Texas."
"Enjoy the different forms. I am familiar with most ICS forms, but some of the others not so much. I try to participate whenever I can but I at least always look up the selected form."
"THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER YET EASIER WEEKLY PROJECTS I RESPOND TO, SHORT, SWEET, AND TO THE POINT."
"I think what you guys are doing is great."
"THIS IS MY FIRST CHECK-IN ON THIS WEEKLY EXERCISE. I LIKE THE CONCEPT AND PRACTICE USING VARIOUS FORMS. THROUGH TODAY, I AM USING TELNET; I ROTATE HOW I SEND AND RECEIVE WINLINK MESSAGES."
"Please continue the training program. However, at times with new-to-me forms, I have difficulty filling in made-up information. Possibly at times for some forms, examples might help."
"Enjoying Winlink program. Not able to participate every week."
"THE TRAINING HAS BEEN BENEFICIAL AND APPRECIATED. I WAS NOT ABLE TO COMPLETE THE LAST TWO DUE TO MY SCHEDULE. I AM FROM RUSSELLVILLE, ARKANSAS."
